Cal Sutphin moved to Marathon, Florida in 2002 with the hopes, like many others, to pursue his dreams of being a charter captain.  Having fallen in love with offshore fishing growing in Maryland, Cal spent most of his adult life fishing in the Chesapeake Bay, Ocean City, MD and Virginia Beach, VA.

Cal was rudely awakened to how much there was to learn in the Keys with the many diverse fisheries that he perfected the talent of asking questions (as many as rapidly possible) of most of the 300 charter captains that fish and dive in the Florida Keys.

Cal hosts the 3-hour daily morning radio show on AM1300 WFFG for the last four years and is coming up on the 100th episode of “Reelin’ In the Keys” TV Show on Comcast Cable broadcasting Monday’s at 8 PM.  He also is contributing editor for “Fishing the Florida Keys” magazine and outdoor writer for the Keynoter newspaper which covers the whole Florida Keys.

Cal has two sons, Christopher (3) and Charlie (8 months) and a wife Heather of over six years.
